Non-Degree Options at Batten University

Not every student at Batten is pursuing a degree — and that's perfectly fine. Whether you're visiting from another institution, auditing a course for personal enrichment, or building professional skills, there's a path here for you.

Ways to Take Classes

Visiting Students

Currently enrolled at another institution and want to take a class at Batten to transfer back to your home school. The Visiting Student Application is primarily used for Summer Session and January Term.

Non-Degree Students

Taking coursework for credit without working toward a degree. Students who decide to pursue a degree at a later date will need to reapply as a degree-seeking student.

Audit Students

Taking courses without receiving academic credit. Enrollment is on a space-available basis and audited courses cannot be changed to credit status later.

  • Official Audit — Regular tuition rate; noted on transcript
  • Audit — $50/credit hour; no documentation
  • Unofficial — Free for enrolled Batten students; no record
  • Senior Citizen — $50/course for ages 62+
