A Wesleyan Christmas to Feature Holiday Favorites and More
It’s that most wonderful time of year again. A Wesleyan Christmas, Virginia Wesleyan's annual holiday extravaganza, takes place at Hofheimer Theater December 3-5, 2010.

The year’s show features the VWC College Choir and the Wesleyan Singers under the direction of Dr. David Clayton and the Virginia Handbell Consort under the direction of Alan Reese as well as student and faculty soloists including soprano Billye Brown Youmans and Dr. Travis Malone, who will perform a dramatic monologue. The program showcases classic holiday favorites plus new sounds of the season.
The Virginia Handbell Consort is an auditioned professional bell ensemble performing on 5 octaves of Schulmerich bells, 5.5 octaves of choir chimes, 3 octaves of Petit & Fritsen bells, and a host of percussion instruments. In its fourth year as part of this special event, the Consort is always a popular addition with young and old alike.
A Wesleyan Christmas has become a holiday tradition for students and alumni, faculty and staff and the general public. Even with four performances, seats sell very quickly. Be sure to make reservations early by calling 757.455.2101 or at concerts@vwu.edu. The concerts are free to the VWC community with one guest. For others, the cost is $5 per person. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3; 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 4; and 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 5.
