Advanced Scholars Program

Attend college courses at Batten University alongside traditional students. Experience campus life while earning credits toward your degree.

Students may take up to two courses per semester.

Tidewater Collegiate Academy

Enroll full-time in Batten University classes while completing your high school diploma at the Tidewater Collegiate Academy, located right on our campus.

Dual-Credit at Your High School

Complete Batten University courses and earn college credit without leaving your high school, through agreements with academies and high schools across Coastal Virginia.

Admission Requirements

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Completed Dual Enrollment Application
  • Completed Eligibility to Enroll Form
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency by meeting one of the following minimum requirements:
    • TOEFL: 550 (paper-based), 80 (internet-based, exams taken before January 2026), or 4.5 (internet-based, January 2026 and later)
    • Duolingo English Test (DET): 105
    • IELTS: 6.5
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE): 58
    • Other approved English proficiency credentials accepted by Batten University
