Good to Know

EWP students can fulfill the foreign language requirement by completing one language in high school through the second level with a final grade of C or higher, or by completing a course offered by the Foreign Languages and Literatures department emphasizing linguistics and cultural understanding.

EWP students whose circumstances change may request a switch to the day program (and vice versa for day students age 23+). The University does not permit repeated switching between programs, but a process exists when circumstances warrant. Contact the EWP Coordinator for information. Students who change status are bound by the foreign language requirement of their original enrollment program, unless they have been away from the University for three or more full semesters.

Adults from the local community may audit EWP courses without record for $50 per semester hour. Students who audit with record pay the current EWP tuition rate and are graded on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis. Senior citizens age 62 or over may audit courses on a space-available basis for $50 per course. Audit registrations cannot be changed to credit status at a later date.

Once enrolled, EWP students receive academic advising from Batten faculty. Pre-enrollment advising is available through the Office of Enrollment Services for students still attending another school who plan to eventually complete their degree through the Evening and Weekend Program.
