Chemistry Honor Society Welcomes New Members

The Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Gamma Sigma Epsilon inducted five students during a special ceremony in the Monumental Chapel.

Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan College’s Epsilon Epsilon chapter of Gamma Sigma Epsilon, the national chemistry honor society, inducted five new student members during a special ceremony in the Monumental Chapel.

The organization recognizes outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional ability and interest in the field of chemistry.  It aims to promote professionalism and scholarship in chemistry and the general welfare of its members.  To become a member, students must have a minimum of 16 credit hours in chemistry, a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all chemistry courses, and at least a 3.0 overall GPA. Transfer students are eligible for membership after a semester at Virginia Wesleyan in which they have taken at least one chemistry course.  Sophomores who are outstanding in chemistry and have completed 12 credit hours in chemistry by the end of the fall semester, have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in all chemistry courses, and at least a 3.0 overall GPA may be nominated for membership.
