Dean's List athletes named at State Farm/VWC Scholar-Athlete Recognition on February 18

Virginia Wesleyan's scholar-athletes know how to balance mind and body by studying hard and playing hard with their teams. More than 80 of these extraordinary Marlins were honored at the Jane P. Batten Student Center Saturday, February 18, the same day the College held a special ceremony for the 10th anniversary of the Batten Center.
Students-athletes recognized were those who are a member of at least one NCAA Division III athletic team at VWC and were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester. Dean's List is awarded to all students who earn at least a 3.5 GPA. As students first and athletes second, these individuals demonstrate an exceptional level of dedication to their academic pursuits as well as their respective teams.
State Farm partnered with Virginia Wesleyan College to sponsor the scholar-athlete recognition. State Farm Agents Larry Akers, Shawn Fischer, Rhonda Floasin, Joe Query, Milt Rawles, Paula Rosati and John Workman, VWC class of 1985, made this possible.
Agents Larry Akers and Shawn Fischer and Agency Field Executive Tim Westerman were on hand for the February 18 event.
Recipients were congratulated by VWC faculty representatives and advisors including Vice President of Academic Affairs and Kenneth R. Perry Dean of the College Timothy O'Rourke, who congratulated these students for their outstanding efforts.
