Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Wesleyan College inducted eight new student members into Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society in history, on Friday, April 30.
Phi Alpha Theta serves to recognize outstanding academic achievement in the field of history, and to promote an appreciation of history among students. The society sponsors field trips and movie nights throughout the year, and presents papers at the annual regional conference. To become a member of Phi Alpha Theta, students must complete four courses in history, must have a minimum of 3.0 overall GPA, and maintain a minimal 3.0 GPA in history courses.
