The 45-foot Ocean Explorer research vessel launched fall 2009 was only the beginning of upgrades planned for Virginia Wesleyan’s science facility and programs.
Modernization totaling more than $1.5 million to provide:
- Expanded opportunities for student research and internships
- Modern, state-of the-art laboratory space for classes and research
- Student access to cutting-edge technology and equipment
Improvements begin summer 2010!“This modernization of the research and teaching labs in Blocker Hall will immediately and dramatically transform the way science is actually taught at Virginia Wesleyan,” said Batten Associate Professor of Biology Dr. Vic Townsend.
