Religious Studies Honor Society Inducts New Members

Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan College inducted six new student members into Theta Alpha Kappa, the national religious studies honor society.
To be eligible for membership, a student must have taken at least 12 hours in religious studies, must have been at the college of induction for at least three semesters, and must have an outstanding GPA (both overall and specifically in religious studies).
Current members Heather Templeton ’11 and Kim Fahle ’10 oversaw the induction of new student members including:

During the induction ceremony, each inductee shared a significant reading. Dr. Terry Lindvall, C.S. Lewis Endowed Professor of Communications and Christian Thought and Dr. Craig Wansink, Professor of Religious Studies, discussed recent research projects. Dr. Eric Mazur, Gloria and David Furman Associate Professor of Judaic Studies, presented his research on how political campaign buttons directly and indirectly appeal to voters’ religious convictions.
