Students Compete for Wesleyan Scholarships
Students from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia vie for awards ranging up to full tuition from the College.
Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. –Virginia Wesleyan College’s Admissions Office is hosting a Wesleyan Scholarship Competition Day, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.
Each year the Admissions Office hosts several of these scholarship days to bring the best and brightest students to campus. Students attending a scholarship day are high school seniors who have been admitted to Virginia Wesleyan. These students were initially awarded a Presidential Scholarship and have been invited to compete for a higher award.
Students from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia have been invited to campus for the scholarship competition day. The competition consists of two personal interviews and one group interview. After the interview process, the faculty honors and scholars committee will make the final decisions on awards ranging up to full tuition with basic room and board. Scholarship competitors are also invited to have lunch in the campus dining facilities and become involved in other events, such as attending a class or participating in a campus tour.
