Virginia Wesleyan Appoints David Buckingham as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Enrollment

Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Wesleyan College President Billy Greer has announced the appointment of David Buckingham as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Enrollment Services, effective June 3, 2010.
Buckingham has led the College’s division of student affairs since 1982, overseeing campus departments such as athletics, residence life and security. He will now also supervise enrollment at the College.
“I am honored and humbled by President Greer's invitation to lead this new (combined) division of the College,” said Buckingham. “This is a team of individuals who possess a will do, can do attitude and I look forward to working with them in the days ahead.”
“Nobody loves this College more than David Buckingham!” said President Billy Greer. “He is committed, compassionate and bright, and I'm confident that David's long tenure with the College and his enthusiasm for our school and our students' success will continue to serve him well in this new leadership role.”
Buckingham holds a B.A. in Social Science from Campbell College and a M.A. in History from Old Dominion University.
He assumes responsibility for the role vacated by former Dean of Admissions Rick Hinshaw.
