Visit VWC During Virginia Private College Week

Virginia Wesleyan will host two daily programs for rising high school juniors and seniors and guidance counselors during the week of July 25-30

alt FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Take advantage of a great opportunity to visit Virginia Wesleyan College this summer. During the week of July 25-30, 2011, Virginia Wesleyan and 24 other member colleges of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) will host two daily programs for rising juniors and seniors (and their families). The Virginia Private College Week program includes a campus tour and an information session about admissions, financial aid, and academic/extracurricular activities.

Both morning (9 a.m.) and afternoon (2 p.m.) sessions will be offered on Monday-Friday (July 25-July 29). In addition, a morning (9 a.m.) session will also be offered Saturday, July 30.

If students visit three or more participating colleges during Virginia Private College Week, they will receive three application fee waivers. This means no application fee when applying to VWC! For a list of other participating colleges and more information about the week, visit the CICV website.

New Opportunity For Guidance Counselors

For the first time, college consultants and counselors—school-based or independent—are eligible to receive the three FREE application fee waivers, which may be distributed to students applying to any of the 25 participating Virginia private colleges and universities.

To qualify for the fee waivers, counselors must follow the same guidelines as students and simply visit any three CICV member institutions during Virginia Private College Week. At the first stop, counselors should pick up a "passport," indicating to staff that they work with college-bound high school students.
