Linda Thomas-Glover, ESCC President, and Jon Pruden, Co-Owner and President of TASTE, join Board of Trustees

The Virginia Wesleyan College Board of Trustees has elected two new members who begin their service during the 2015-2016 fiscal year. Linda Thomas-Glover, President of Eastern Shore Community College, and Jon Pruden, co-owner and President of TASTE, join an engaged group of Trustees whose dedication has been a critical asset to the success of Virginia Wesleyan, its students and alumni.
“We are delighted to welcome Linda Thomas-Glover and Jon Pruden,” said Board of Trustees Chair Gary Bonnewell, VWC Class of 1979. “Both are active members of the community who bring not only expertise in the realms of business and education but meaningful connections to the College.”
Dr. Linda Thomas-Glover, a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, was appointed the fourth president of Eastern Shore Community College in 2009. She previously served as provost and chief academic officer at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College in Kentucky. Glover holds a doctorate in chemistry from Temple University. In her current role, she has spearheaded the development of new instructional programs and workforce training and facilitated successful partnerships with K-12 and transfer institutions. Currently, she is a member of the Melfa Rotary Club, serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Space Flight Academy. Her daughter is a current student at VWC.
Jon Pruden was raised in Hampton Roads and, as co-owner and President of TASTE, he is the fourth generation of his family to work in the specialty food business. TASTE, Virginia’s leading family-owned and operated specialty food experience, has expanded its successful operation into the Peninsula and Suffolk. Formerly an attorney with Kaufman and Canoles, Pruden has solid ties to the business and philanthropic communities in the region. He is a fellow at the Civic Leadership Institute, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Williams School and the Pruden Foundation and Chairman of the Retailer Network. His great grandfather was an early supporter of the College, and Pruden Hall on the VWC campus is named after the Pruden family.

Miller, “as we strive to make Virginia Wesleyan College a beacon for the liberal arts in the 21st century."
Virginia Wesleyan College is governed by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. The Board supports the College’s mission and is responsible for securing adequate financial resources for the operation of the College and establishing long-range goals and institutional policies. Trustees are elected to staggered terms and include business, educational and community leaders with a wide range of expertise and experience.
