The Virginia Wesleyan College Concert Series presents The Wren Masters in “Birth of the Baroque” on Monday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Hofheimer Theater on the College campus. >>View a campus map or get directions
Performing on period instruments, The College of William & Mary faculty members Susan Via on baroque violin, Sarah Glosson on cello and viola da gamba, Ruth van Baaak Griffioen on recorder, and Tom Marshall on harpsichord, present music of the 16th and 17th centuries by Frescobaldi, Gabrielli, Uccellini, Turini, and Monteverdi.
The concert is co-sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society, with an introduction by Dr. Clay Drees, professor of history.
Tickets for the concert are free to the VWC community; $10 for adults; and $5 for seniors/military/students. Reservations may be made by calling 757.455.2101.
The 2010-11 Fine Arts series at Virginia Wesleyan College offers an exciting array of events for the college community and all of Hampton Roads.
