Final Grading Instructions – Fall 2025

Grade Submission

Grades are submitted through Blackboard. See the Blackboard Submit Grades to Colleague guide for step-by-step instructions.

  • Log in to WebAdvisor, click Midterm and Final Grading with Rubrics Rosters, select the current term (leave date fields blank), and select the desired class roster. Remember to include rosters with only one or two students — tutorials, guided studies, etc.
  • Every student on your roster must receive a grade. No blanks.
  • The grade options in the drop-down match the student's registration type: traditional, pass/fail, or audit. Pass/fail students receive S or U; audit students receive Z (successful) or UZ (unsuccessful). An H is available for students completing honors work of exceptional quality.

"C–" Reports

  • C– forms must be completed for all students who receive a final grade of C– or lower. They can be completed online at the same time grades are entered, or at a later time — but no later than December 15. This information is required by the Committee on Academic Standing.
  • To avoid confusion, it is recommended to release final grades to the Registrar's Office first, then return to complete any C– forms. Each C– form has its own submit button, separate from the grading function.

Grade Changes & Corrections

  • Grade changes/corrections cannot be made in WebAdvisor. They will be accepted by email only — sent to reg@batten.edu from your Batten University email account — until midnight, December 15. Later changes require approval from Associate Provost Dr. Loren Marquez.
  • Incomplete ("I") grades for the fall semester must be submitted on the Term Incomplete Roster in WebAdvisor no later than Friday, December 5. Student work should be required in ample time to allow a final grade to be submitted by that deadline. Grades of "I" should be given only after consultation with the student and should not be used as a substitute for a failing grade.
