Faith in Action
Faith-Based Service
Through Campus Ministries and the University’s partnership with Haygood United Methodist Church, students have opportunities to serve the local community while building relationships and putting faith into action.
Service opportunities vary throughout the year and may include outreach with local schools, food support programs, youth ministry, community gardening, children’s programs, and regional service projects.
Backpack Program
Pack food for children facing food insecurity at Luxford Elementary.
H.A.R.K.
Participate in Haygood Acts of Random Kindness community service projects.
Youth Group Engagement
Support youth programs, gatherings, and ministry events in the community.
Preschool Support
Assist preschool teachers and support young children in learning environments.
Community Garden
Help plant, maintain, and harvest in the community garden.
Appalachia Service Project
Serve communities in need throughout the Appalachian region.
Students are also encouraged to explore service opportunities through the Center for Civic Engagement and Service Learning, including Habitat for Humanity, tutoring in local schools, and food bank support.
