Annual Traditions
Some of the best memories from college happen outside the classroom. These are the events and traditions that bring the Batten University community together year after year.

New students play roulette, blackjack, and other casino games while competing for fun prizes.
-
Annual for Tree lighting
Students, faculty, and staff sing carols, light candles, and drink hot cocoa and cider before lighting the tree. The highlight is a rousing rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

First-Year Fest
New students kick off their first week with music, activities, food, and fun. It's the unofficial start of your Batten experience.
-
Fraternity & Sorority Life Recruitment
The fraternities and sororities open their doors to recruit new members. The start of something that often lasts well beyond graduation.
-
Glow Party
New students dance the night away under neon lights with three dueling DJs providing the music.
-
Homecoming
Alumni return to campus for a full weekend of events. Homecoming week includes the Court crowning, a tailgate during athletics, a dance with DJ and photographer, and reunions across every graduating class.
-
Late Night Breakfast
Faculty and staff serve bacon, eggs, biscuits, and more as a final treat before exams begin. One of those traditions that sounds small until you've been through finals week.
-
Marlin Graduation Celebration
Graduating students participate in Batten Wednesday, Baccalaureate Services, a fun outing to a local venue, and Commencement.
-
Spring Alumni Weekend
Alumni are invited back to Batten University for a weekend of events each spring.
