Campus Cooperative

Similar to the Federal Work-Study Program, students with proven financial need are eligible to apply for positions through the Campus Cooperative Program. Positions are supported through institutional funding and assist with university operations.

Students offered a position receive a tuition credit of up to $2,500 annually (depending on position), applied directly to their student account. In return, students work approximately 10 hours each week during the academic year.

Academics

Academic Affairs, Office Assistant

The Office of Academic Affairs needs a student available to work 10–12 hours per week. Confidentiality is paramount — all tasks and information must be treated as confidential. The student will sign a confidentiality waiver as a condition of employment.

Duties: Scanning, filing, data entry, copying, shredding, on-campus errands, organizing office supplies and work rooms, project research, answering phones, updating bulletin boards, and special projects.

Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, Microsoft Office proficiency. Junior or Senior status preferred. Professional dress strongly encouraged.

Batten Honors College

Batten Honors College, Office Assistant

The Batten Honors College is seeking an honors student worker for the upcoming academic year.

Duties: Coordinating volunteers for recruitment events, editing the newsletter, calling prospective students and parents (at least two evenings per week), coordinating program activities, representing the Honors College at recruitment events, and general office tasks (data entry, typing, assembling folders).

Qualifications: Attention to detail, confidentiality, professionalism, comfort speaking with people in person and on the phone, and effective writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Center for Enrollment

Enrollment Ambassador

Represent Batten University and showcase what it means to be a Marlin. Ambassadors are the connection between prospective students and the campus community, and have the power to strongly influence enrollment decisions.

Hours: 10 hours per week. Tours leave at 11am and 2pm Monday–Friday, and 11am on Saturday. Arrive 30 minutes before tour time.

Duties: Give tours, attend monthly training, miscellaneous office tasks, and work special events such as Marlins Day and Dinner on Us.

Expectations: Professionalism in appearance and interactions. Prompt communication with Program Directors. Enthusiasm for Batten University — the message should always be positive. Academics must remain the top priority.

Information Technology

IT Help Desk Technician

Work closely with the IT team supporting students, faculty, and staff. Answer calls, troubleshoot computer-related issues, and provide instructions on classroom technology. This is a customer service position — must be dependable and courteous.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–12:30pm or 12:30pm–4:30pm (works around class schedule).

Qualifications: Attention to detail, basic computer and software knowledge, good communication skills, ability to work independently, willingness to learn advanced skills, and ability to lift/relocate equipment.
