Fair Transfer Guarantee
Batten University is committed to treating transfer students fairly. We believe in recognizing your hard work and making the path to your four-year degree as straightforward as possible.
The Fair Transfer Guarantee helps Virginia community college graduates save credits, save time, and save money. Students who have completed an Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts & Sciences, or Associate of Applied Science in Human Services (Tidewater Community College) will enter Batten with junior-class status. All lower-level general education requirements — including foreign language — will be considered complete, allowing you to focus on courses for your major and upper-level electives.
This guarantee applies to graduates from any college within the Virginia Community College System, including Tidewater Community College and Virginia Peninsula Community College.
Marlin Fast Pass
Be a Marlin before you transfer. Virginia community college students who declare their intent to transfer to Batten will be assigned an academic advisor and issued a Batten student ID. You'll have full access to campus — including the library, fitness center, and free admission to athletic and cultural events — before you even enroll.
Students who have earned a 3.0 GPA at the completion of their first year at a two-year institution are eligible to concurrently enroll in two 300-level Batten courses during their sophomore year.

Transfer Scholarships
Batten University offers private school quality with public school affordability. With an average institutional award of nearly $21,000 and a total average financial aid package of approximately $37,000, our grant and merit-based award programs — along with federal and state aid — make it possible. TCC graduates from Hampton Roads may also qualify for the Hampton Roads College Success Scholarship, valued at $10,000 per year.
