Alumni Career Services
A Batten University education doesn’t end at graduation — and neither does your access to Career Development. All services are free and available to every Batten University graduate, wherever you are in your career.
Job Searching
If you’re searching for employment, the CDP is here to help. Consider the following as you plan your search:
- Stay active: You’ll find a job only if you’re actively pursuing one. Be persistent and consistent.
- Work your network: Let your contacts know you’re looking. Expand your network and connect through LinkedIn.
- Consider temping: Temporary work pays the bills and builds experience that makes you a stronger candidate.
- Develop new skills: Volunteer opportunities offer real experience alongside temp work — both help make you more attractive to employers.
- Try Micro-Internships: Parker Dewey offers short-term professional projects that help you build experience and launch or redirect your career.
- Stay flexible: Look at careers adjacent to your major or field. Sometimes the best fit is one you didn’t expect.
Career Assessment
If you’re considering a job change or want to reassess your direction, Batten alumni have free access to FOCUS-2 — the same career and major self-assessment tool available to current students. Visit the FOCUS-2 site for registration instructions.
What Can I Do With This Major? is also a useful tool for connecting your degree to career areas, employer types, and strategies to make yourself a stronger candidate.
Career Coaching
Talk through your options one-on-one with a career coach. CDP staff can help you with your job search strategy, resume, interview prep, and more. Schedule an appointment or reach out at careerdevelopment@batten.edu.

Give Back
The CDP sponsors career panels to connect current students with alumni in their fields. If you’d be willing to speak on a panel, conduct a mock interview, or offer a micro-internship through your organization, we’d love to hear from you — email careerdevelopment@batten.edu.
