Special Education Teacher (K-12)
Graduates are recommended for Virginia teaching licensure in Special Education: General Curriculum (K-12) upon successful completion of all Gateway requirements and student teaching.
Special Education: General Curriculum at Batten University is a CAEP-accredited licensure program preparing students to teach students with disabilities across grade levels K-12 in Virginia. The program equips teaching candidates with the knowledge, skills, and field experience to work with diverse learners in a range of educational settings.
Like all TEP undergraduate majors, students must apply and be accepted into the Teacher Education Program by the end of their sophomore year, complete program gateway requirements, and fulfill student teaching placements before being recommended for Virginia teaching licensure.
